Hey Guys, it’s Jessica with Revela and I want to talk with you about how you’re doing on your goals. Every year, usually at the beginning, we set goals, we make resolutions and we make new commitments. What often happens, though, is that we set these goals, and then we don’t ever take time to review how we did…not until the end of the year, anyway. By then, it’s too late to make any changes or do anything about the goals that your never achieved. It’s also too late to celebrate and time to set new goals!
So it’s time to take a look… How are you doing on your goals? Are you hitting the milestones that you’ve planned for? And if you are, have you taken time to celebrate and reward yourself or those that’ve helped you? If you’re not, what are you going to do to get back on track?
Typically, when people miss a goal, they look for and identify reasons why they fell short. But they don’t ever make a plan to get themselves going again. They go on thinking that the previous time period is just history and they’ll work twice as hard the next time.
So what can you do? Conduct an autopsy of all your goals. Take a look at each goal, and think about all the reasons why a goal might get off track or might not be achieved. Then create a plan to work around those barriers.
In order to achieve your goals, you have to create new habits. Review your goals daily. And if you have to, set an alarm on your phone to remind you to do so. Tell others what goals you are working on so that they can help keep you accountable. Setting and achieving goals takes work and a lot of commitment. Do things that keep you motivated. Most importantly, take time to celebrate your successes.
